Welcome to the Healthy Enterprise Blog!

Welcome, and thanks for visiting my Healthy Enterprise blog.

I'm Dave Patrick, based in Nairn in the Highlands of Scotland, and have been the Director of Healthy Enterprise for a number of years.

Having worked in Finance for Shell Expro in the oil & gas industry during my mainstream career I have developed a passion for using my business and finance skills to help communities, social enterprises and organisations involved in the LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) sector to develop and sustain themselves.

So what is "Healthy Enterprise"? I have defined it as follows:

1 An organisation which (i) lives and behaves authentically in alignment with its values, purpose and vision, (ii) finds, creates and delivers value, both profitably and sustainably, (iii) contributes positively to the wellbeing of all people and communities with whom it is directly and indirectly associated by intelligently and sensibly sharing knowledge, networks and compassion and (iv) contributes positively to the future health and viability of planet Earth

2 The act of (i) living and behaving authentically in alignment with one’s values, purpose and vision, (ii) finding, creating and delivering value, both profitably and sustainably, (iii) contributing positively to the wellbeing of all people and communities with whom directly and indirectly associated by intelligently and sensibly sharing knowledge, networks and compassion and (iv) contributing positively to the future health and viability of planet Earth

As well as using my business and finance skills I have also developed a system for social enterprises, communities and companies to use called the Sustainable Value Flow System (SVFS). This incorporates the principles of Value Network Mapping where the emphasis is on value flow rather than cost within the particular system under review. Within this system is a set of powerful, integrated tools, including the Health Scan Tool, currently in its final prototype stages of development.
